Area residents are invited to Community Renewal’s annual Highland neighborhood picnic at Shreveport’s Columbia Park. This year’s picnic is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29. The park is located at Columbia and Creswell streets.

The picnic brings neighbors together for a fun event that helps strengthen the sense of community and keep the neighborhood a safe and caring place. A free lunch will be provided and there will be door prizes, a cake walk, games and other activities for families and children. The staff at Brentwood Hospital is also partnering with Community Renewal on this year's picnic.
