After a deployment to support the war efforts in Afghanistan about fifty members of the 917th Fighter Group made a final approach for home today.
Starting last Saturday a total of about one hundred and sixty men and women returned home after being gone for some as long as six months.
Lieutenant Colonel John Breazeale says the mission was a huge success for the 917th. It was the first deployment the group had as a unit in sixteen years. "It was an opportunity for our folks to go out and support our men and women, our soldiers and marines, and support the operators that are the ground in Afghanistan," Breazeale said.
And among all the hugging and kissing one lucky airmen made the most out of his return home by popping the big question.
