Shreveport, La. -

We have an update on a combat-wounded vietnam war veteran, who reaches out to today's returning war vets the best way he can, through his music. Eddie Ray Franks Jr. of Waskom, TX knows their struggle.
Country singer Eddie Ray Franks is recording a new cd, hoping to raise money that'll allow him to continue helping a new wave of war veterans, who become homeless. Franks was almost one of them, after duty in vietnam, where he nearly gave his life in a gruesome battle that became known as hamburger hill.
Franks still suffers from post traumatic stress and nightmare flashbacks, one of the factors that can cause veterans to become homeless, as is unemployment. He now writes and sings for for today's veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan
Eddie Ray Franks Jr. has dedicated his new cd to the memory of his uncle, the late Tillman Franks, the performer, songwriter and manager of Louisiana Hayride Fame.
