MAGNOLIA, Ar. -

Two people charged in connection with the theft of horses from Southern Arkansas University appeared in court today.

Bond for William "Billy Hamilton" was set at $150,000. Hamilton also has other charges pending in Pike and Howard counties. George Berish, 17, was placed on house arrest. Both will return to court in Columbia County to answer six counts of theft.

Five horses and a horse trailer were stolen from the University last November. Four of the horses were recovered, but a black mare, "Credit Card," was later found shot and mutilated.

Jaci Rae Jackson, 19, is considered the ringleader. She faces several felony charges. Her trial is expected to begin in July.
