For police officers everywhere, nothing's scarier than the unknown. That was the case for Shreveport officers Tuesday afternoon when they surrounded a house on Gilbert Drive. The woman living in one of the apartments called 911 when she heard noises coming from what's supposed to be a vacant apartment right above hers.

What she found, nearly scared her to death. She says there was a man hiding under a blanket. Corporal Chris Yarborough says when officers went inside, they found the blanket and some food, but the mystery man managed to escape. Officers went in hoping for the best, but were locked, loaded and prepared for the worst.

Yarborough says the man the downstairs neighbor saw was most likely a squatter who was just as scared of her as she was him. Police say they plan to keep a close eye on that house for the next several days just to make sure that un-welcomed visitor doesn't return.
