Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal predicts that he will not be offered the job of vice president to John McCain. Jindal heads to the Arizona senator's ranch this weekend, along with two other Republicans considered to have a shot at the job.
The trip has triggered new speculation that the governor is on
McCain's short list for vice president. But Thursday, Jindal repeated that he loves his job and wants to serve two terms as governor.
"I've got the job that I want. I think it would be rude to turn down something that I've not been offered," said Jindal.
"I've worked long and hard to be governor," he added.
Jindal says the meeting is a good chance to talk to McCain and other national leaders about the needs of Louisiana.
"I think it would be a good thing for the governor to have a good relationship with the next President of the United States. Senator McCain could be our next President," said Jindal.
Jindal says it's also a good time to show national business leaders that now is the time to invest in Louisiana.
