Junior Livestock Auction
Louisiana State Fairgrounds
Hard work is paying off for kids across Louisiana.
The junior livestock sale is going on at the state fairgrounds.
The agriculture and livestock shows are the reason the state fair was first started and keeping with tradition, the animals that won in their divisions went on the auction block and were awarded to the highest bidder.
It's cash in the pocket for kids in 4-H and FFA.
"It's bittersweet. It's sad. I've been crying a lot. But it's great. It's great because there are a lot of kids left behind me in line in our family that will get to do this and experience everything I've learned through working through 4-H" says Maggie Brakeville.
This is Maggie's last auction she can show in. Maggie received a 4-H scholarship to Louisiana Tech and is a freshman there this year.
