Jury finds Shreveport man guilty of killing baby

CADDO PARISH, La. -

A jury has found a Shreveport man accused of killing his baby guilty as charged.

It took a Caddo Parish jury just 90 minutes to find 24-year-old Samuel Lee Jordan guilty of first degree murder in the 2008 death of his 9-week-old daughter, Lyrica Kennedy.

Jordan took young Lyrica to a local hosptial, where she died six days later of severe head injuries.

The penalty phase of the trail begins at 2 pm Sunday.

Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty.
