This weekend marks Dr. Seuss' birthday.
On Friday morning, some of the tiny patients at LSU Health Shreveport remembered in a very special way.
They read through his stories like, Green Eggs and Ham.
They learned about characters like Sam I Am.
Shreveport Chief of Police Willie Shaw even made an appearance and did a little reading out loud himself.
It was all part of an effort to get kids into books early in their lives.
"Dr. Seuss is always fun because his books rhyme. It's something all these kids know, because it's just a classic," said coordinator Christine Tharp.
Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904. That's 109 years ago.
He is most famous for his children's books, including The Cat in the Hat and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
