Krewe of Harambee Parade ready to roll

Now's the time to plan for one of the first big events of 2013.

The Krewe of Harambee is accepting applications for its annual MLK Day parade.

This will be the krewe's eighth year to parade through the streets of downtown Shreveport.

The parade honors the late civil rights leader as it adds to the celebration of Mardi Gras in the ArkLaTex.

If you want to take part, January 5, 2013, is the deadline to get your application in. Call, Beverly Paige at (318) 470-9843.

The parade is January 21, 2013. If you can't make it downtown, watch it on our sister station KPXJ-CW21.
