Shreveport, LA -

A heads up if you plan on catching the Krewe of Highland Mardi Gras parade this year.  The route for the parade, which rolls Sunday, February 10, has changed.

The new route has the parade starting at Gilbert Drive and Gregg Avenue near Madison Park at 2pm.  It heads north, taking a left on Gladstone Boulevard, then a right on Creswell, before following the normal route through the Highland neighborhood.  It'll head back down Centenary and end at Gladstone and Gilbert.

Krewe officials tell KTBS 3 News the change was made because of parking issues where they used to line up at Byrd High School.  This change adds one mile to the parade route.

The pre-party at Columbia Park will be from 10am-2pm and the after party at Marilyn's Place on Fern.
