LSU Shreveport, the BPCC Student Oil and Gas Organization, the Shreveport Geological Society, and the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association are sponsoring a screening of the documentary “SWITCH”. The screening will take place this Wednesday, November 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Theatre on BPCC’s campus. Dr. Scott Tinker, Director of the Bureau of Economic Geology and the State Geologist of Texas, travels to 11 countries in the film to discover the possibilities of all forms of energy production.
Gary Hanson, LSUS Professor and Director of the LSUS Red River Watershed Management Institute, will be the moderator for the event. He will also serve as a panelist who will answer questions after the screening. Ragan Dickens, LSUS Alumnus and Director of Communications for the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association, will also participate along with Carrie Salinas from BPCC, and representatives from the Shreveport Geological Society, Chesapeake Energy, and Storer Equipment.
The 98-minute film looks at all forms of energy production and is part of a bigger effort called the Switch Energy Project which aims to educate people on a cohesive understanding of energy.
