A lightning strike caused some tense moments for homeowners in South Shreveport this morning.

The Shreveport Fire Department was called out to this home in the 2900 block of Chardonnay Circle in the Long Lake Subdivision just before 2:30.

Firefighters say lightning struck a metal facade on the homes roof.

They say shortly after the strike the owners smelled smoke coming from the attic.

Firefighters quickly arrived and got the situation under control in less than 10 minutes.
