Saturday night was the 12th Night after Christmas, which means its the start of Mardi Gras season.
Local krewes celebrated in style.
The Bossier Civic Center was alive with music and dancing as the 12th Night party kicked off.
All 15 area Mardi Gras krewes, along with members of the public, rang in the start of Mardi Gras celebrations.
Krewe members say it's a great time for their organizations to meet and greet.
"It's kind of an honor. It's something they do special for us. It's a tradition that started just a few years ago, and it's just a really special time for us all to get together," says Queen Nicky Kurnette, Krewe of Centaur.
The party was hosted by the Krewe of Centaur and of Gemini.
