It's a date that only comes around every hundred years and 12-12-12 is special for a couple of people here in Shreveport.

Today is Alonzo and Charon Washington's birthday.

The couple has been married for 46 years and the husband and wife say they look at sharing the same birthday as a good luck charm.

They say that it's a blessing for both of them to share a life and a birthday together.

"On the same day, he can't forget my birthday, so I know I'm guaranteed a birthday present and he's the same way," says Charon.

Mrs. Washington says they don't have special plans but to just relax the rest of the day.
