Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the gunman who shot a local man in west Shreveport last night.
At approximately 9:10 p.m. on June 28, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of Union Avenue and West 70th Street relative to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found 18 year old Dshundre Harris suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower left leg. Harris was subsequently transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what was described as a non-life-threatening injury.
Detectives responded and learned the victim and another man were apparently walking in the 6600 block of Clift Avenue when a known male suspect approached them and attempted to start a fight.
During the course of the altercation, the suspect allegedly produced a handgun and fired several shot at the men as they fled on foot, one of which struck Harris.
