SHREVEPORT, La. -

A local teen has been caught in the gunfire of a drive-by shooting in Shreveport.

It happened just before 6:30 p.m. this evening, in the 3500 block of Lakeland Street.

Police say someone in an unidentified car drove by a home and opened fire.

Investigators are still searching for suspects and are putting together information about the type of vehicle the gunman drove.

Police say a 17-year-old boy was hit by several bullets while inside the home.

He was taken to LSU Health with what are described as non life-threatening injuries.

Officials say several people were inside the home at the time but no one else was hurt.
