Both the Democrat and Republican conventions are done and over. Mitt Romney and President Obama have had their say. Several of you have something to say about them, and when to the KTBS Facebook page to do it.

Imogene commented, "I think the Democrats did a better job presenting the facts. The Republicans were very unorganized."

Angela commented, "In my opinion, the RNC represented patriotism, family values, and morals, and the strength to uphold the American Dream."

However, Nealand commented, "The sad thing is, neither party presented any kind of clear plans, just a bunch of rhetoric and pandering."

We had several similar comments, but GOP and Dem leaders probably hope most independent or undecided voters aren't thinking the same. A large part of both the RNC and DNC was to attract those voters. Local Democrat Delegate Patrick Williams says the DNC's focus on everyday citizens, especially those in the middle, should get them those votes.

"From all of the speeches that were there, it was tailored more to the middle-class and being compassionate," Williams said.

Local Republican Delegate Duke Lowrie says the RNC emphasis on small government should get them the votes.

"Looking at our convention, they saw that they probably have less to fear from intrusion from the government from the Republican Party than they do by the Democrat Party," Lowrie said.

Though President Obama has a post convention bump in the opinion polls, both candidates have been running close. So, those undecided voters will be getting even more attention. Remember, election night is November 6th.
