Fallen Soldier Honored

A part of Interstate 20 was renamed today in honor of a fallen soldier. I-20's exit 47 at Minden was renamed the Sergeant Joshua B. Madden Interchange by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
Family and friends gathered in a ceremony to honor Madden who was killed in the Iraq war.
The memorial interchange will recognize the sacrifice he made for his country as well as the State of Louisiana..
"We didn't know they we're going to start with our son, we're very proud of that but we want every family in Louisiana who has lost someone to be able to stand here as we do today," said Jerry Madden, Joshua's father. The memorial initiative was pushed through legislation with the help of Senator Robert Adley.
