Shreveport Police confirm with us that Robert Farmer, 20, has died today at LSU Hospital.  The young man was beaten over the weekend in the Red River District in downtown Shreveport, where he suffered life threatening injuries.    

Police arrested and charged Darrell Phillips, 27, and Demerius Smith, 23, with second degree battery at the time of the battery.  Just in, police have reported Demerius Smith has now been charged with 2nd degree murder.   At this time, it is not yet decided what charges will be given to Darrell Phillips.

A prayer vigil will be held for Farmer tonight at 9:15 pm, outside of LSU Hospital, where he was being treated.
