A Bossier City man has been arrested after he allegedly hit a child who was riding a bike at Cypress Park campgrounds and then fled the scene. The child fell off the bike but was not injured, Bossier Parish sheriff's deputies said.

Tommy E. Huffman, 59, of the 5000 block of Kenilworth, was booked Tuesday on charges of second-offense DWI and hit-and-run driving.

Huffman left the accident scene without checking on the child’s condition, deputies said. He was later found by deputies and admitted drinking beer before the accident, sheriff's Lt. Ed Baswell said.
