DNA evidence has been instrumental in arresting a suspect in connection with the burglary of the Rodessa Town Hall, Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies said today.

The burglar crawled through a broken window and then used a screwdriver to pry open a safe at the town hall last November, deputies said. Blood left at scene was matched to Sylvester R. Reed, 43, of Rodessa, deputies said.

That burglary charge is in addition to one charging Reed with the June burglary of Rodessa Foods. Reed was already in jail on that charge when the DNA tests came back, deputies said.
