Man critically injured in I-49 wreck

A man is in LSUMC this morning after landing his vehicle in a tree around 1:00am this morning.

The driver was headed south on I-49 in DeSoto Parish, just south of the Stonewall-Frierson exit. Louisiana State Police say the vehicle ran off the road and stuck in a tree.

Only the man was in the car. He was airlifted to LSU hospital with life-threatening injuries.

State Police say a toxicology test will determine whether the driver had been drinking. He could face charges.
