Man found guilty of 2008 shooting death

CADDO PARISH, La. -

Demarcus Cartez Jones has been found guilty of second degree murder for the July, 2008 shooting death of Lonzell Armstrong outside a business in the 1900 block of David Raines Rd.
A Caddo Parish jury deliberated just over an hour before returning the verdict. Judge Scott Crichton set the official sentencing date for Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 1:30 p.m. A second degree murder conviction carries a life sentence in prison.
Caddo Parish ADAs Geya Prudhomme and Kelvin Rodgers successfully prosecuted the case.
