Jordan Chreene was working his normal shift at an oil right in Simms, Texas when he was struck by lightning.

"It took a hold of me and I grabbed it and couldn't let go and finally it threw me off," said Chreene.

Chreene was suspended about four feet up on the rig when lightning ran through the cable that was strapped to his harness.  

"Most people die because of something like this but I was sure glad to see that he was alive and able to talk to me," said firefighter Paul Beard.

Chreene expects to return to work in a few days.
