DESOTO PARISH, La. -

The search is over for Westley Hudman. The suspected car thief was found in a DeSoto Parish church.

According to DeSoto Chief Deputy Patrick Cobb, a trooper was in the process of making a traffic stop around 1p.m. Friday when Hudman sped away and after a short distance exited the roadway into a wooded area.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop G spokesperson Matt Harris, authorities managed to stop the vehicle but Hudman fled on foot.

Authorities have confirmed that the Hudman's ditched vehicle, a 1999 blue Jeep Wrangler, was stolen out of Gregg County, Tx.
