East Texas -

An East Texas jail Sargent is dead after she lost control of her car Thursday morning.

It happened just after ten o'clock on FM 248 in Marion County just outside of Jefferson Texas.

Sargent Lori Owens was driving a 2002 Ford Focus when she lost control. Her car went airborne and crashed in a ditch.

Crash investigators do not believe Owens was under the influence of any kind but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
