The apparent suicide of country singer Mindy McCready brought a jolt of attention to which the resort community of Heber Springs is unaccustomed.
Residents said Monday that McCready kept a low profile in the town of about 7,000 people.
Her home near the end of a peninsula into Greers Ferry Lake kept her out of sight even on the busy weekends in the warmer months.
Bob Love, a retired truck driver, said at a local diner Monday that he didn't even know McCready had moved to Heber Springs until her death became a headline on Sunday.
Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss says McCready's death will be treated as any other, which means it will get his full attention
