Meth Lab Found at Red River Clean Up
2012 Red River Clean Up
Mounds of trash were collected during the 2012 Red River Cleanup today. Those cleaning want to make one thing clear, keep trash out of the Red River. Nearly 200 volunteers cleaned. The group found everything from pipes to a mobile meth lab, which Shreveport Police confiscated. Organizers say a trashy river can be avoided but only with your help.
"If your community is dirty, when it rains it gets into our storm systems," organizer Adam Willard said. "And then, it eventually makes its way into our Red River. So, if you have trash around your neighborhood, keep it clean."
Willard says cleanup officials are hoping to get larger grants and get the local casinos involved for 2013.
