A national restaurant honors America's veterans.

A crowd of people stood outside the doors of the Golden Corral for Military Appreciation Monday.

The restaurant offered a free dinner to any person who's served in the military, national guard and reserves. Virgil Sistrunk a vet from the U.S. Army says the event also serves as a reunion.

"I have seen several people that I know personally and met a couple that I didn't know already until now and it's a wonderful thing to get together like this," said Sistrunk.

This is the sixth year for the event. Organizers say they serve more than two million people a year on this day.
