Miller County sheriff loses bid for re-election

Miller County Sheriff Linda Rambo lost a bid for re-election on Tuesday, soundly defeated by Arkansas state trooper Ron Stovall.

Stovall, a 35-year State Police veteran, got 52 percent of the vote, according to complete but unofficial returns.

Stovall was followed by Johnny Bob Simmons, who got 15 percent of the vote. Rambo was third with 14 percent of the vote.

Jody Harris got 6 percent of the vote.

 Stovall takes office Jan. 1.
