Wanted: Jobs for teens this summer. With oil prices sky-rocketing, the housing crunch continuing and retails sales falling, teenagers wanting summer employment need to start searching now.

Nearly half of hiring managers say they have no plans to hire seasonal workers this year because it just isn't in the budget.

Meanwhile, more job losses are expected nationwide. Analysts say businesses are getting nervous and pulling back.

Construction workers, real estate agents and auto workers could be among those hardest-hit.

School and medical jobs should be safer, and hiring is expected to hold up in areas where people spend no matter how the economy is doing-- like grocery stores, gas stations and repair shops.

Another sector being hit hard is the lumber industry.

Construction down-turns have led to a slash in demand for hardwood. And large furniture makers are abandoning the United States in favor of foreign countries with cheaper labor and lower operating costs. That's driven the price for hardwood down.
