Holiday Lanes announced the 2013 Mr. & Miss Geaux Beauxling: Matt Flynn and Sarah McComick. Matt and Sarah were selected as the first High School Varsity Bowler of the Week of the season; and will represent Holiday Lanes as royalty in the Krewe of Aesclepius Children's Mardi Gras parade.
Krewe of Aesclepius is the Second oldest Mardi Gras Krewe in the Ark-La-Tex. The parade is held on Fat Tuesday, Feb 12, 2013 - 7:00 pm at Pierre Bossier Mall.
"Geaux Beauxling Louisiana!" encourages bowling as a fun and fit activity in the state of Louisiana and Holiday Lanes is committed to every student in Louisiana learning to bowl in P.E. class.
Bowling is a LHSAA-sanctioned high school sport and opens opportunities for students to participate in individual and team competition, as well as provide scholarships for college. Local high schools with varsity bowling teams are Airline, Loyola, Parkway, Benton, Bossier, Haughton, Minden, C.E. Byrd. Each member of these bowling teams represent not only their schools, but the Shreveport-Bossier Community. The competitive bowling season begins in mid-January with a jamboree and goes through Spring Break. Meets are held twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30 pm. Admission is free to observe the competition.
