The ArkLaTex got a much-needed dose of rain today, with more possible over the next two days.
Rainfall amounts were not as much as a lot of people wanted but it was the first significant rain in Shreveport in two weeks. Texarkana had been dry for a week before rain moved in there Thursday evening.
Rain was spotty. Barksdale AFB measured only .15 inches while the National Weather Service reported .59 inches of rain at Shreveport Regional Airport. Weather watchers in SW Shreveport and Keithville reported better amounts of around 1 inch of rain.
The southwest side of Texarkana, TX picked up .37 inches but the Regional Airport on the Arkansas side only measured .11 inches.
Rain should continue this afternoon mainly in East Texas and central Louisiana while Arkansas and eastern Louisiana are seeing sunshine.
Partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures are forecast for most of the area tonight with lows dropping into the 60s.
Saturday is now looking fairly dry with only a slight chance of showers - mainly in East Texas. High temperatures should be back in the lower 90s
Lousiana and Arkansas have the better chances of showers Sunday - 30%. Temperatures should top out near 90 Sunday.
