New Margarita Casino brings benefits
Tune in tonight to hear Rod White's Margaritaville information
Watch KTBS Channel 3's Rod White tonight for: "Sharing the wealth -- How parishes on both sides of the river can benefit from the new Margaritaville Casino."
Construction has begun on Margaritaville, Bossier City's newest riverboat casino.
Officials say the dirt work should take about three months to complete, and they will then be able to begin construction on the hotel and casino barge.
While other Louisiana riverboat casinos physically float in the Red River, Margaritaville's casino will sit on a football field-size swimming pool containing water pumped in from the river.
Margaritaville Resort and Casino will feature a 30,000 square feet of gaming, a 369-room hotel, the famous "It's 5'OClock Somewhere" bar, a 900-seat entertainment venue, and of course, the trademark Margaritaville Restaurant, among other dining options.
This will be the third Margaritaville-themed casino to open and will be the biggest one yet.
