Bossier High School teacher Amy Washington didn't plan on going into teacher but something changed when saw how she could make a difference.

"I actually thought I  was going to go into law enforcement," Washington told KTBS.

Once Washington realized that her passion was in education she hasn't stopped  trying to open the eyes and minds of her science students.

It was this past summer when she says  her mind and eyes were opened to the world of forensic pathology and now she is trying to show her students.

"I plan to buy 3 sets of bones," says Washington. 

Students will have to use their math skills to figure out the race, gender, and age of the bones using just a few math equations.

"I want to show them that math is used in so many different ways," says Washington.

This is the second "One Class at a Time " Award for Washington.
