One person is dead after traveling back from the Natchitoches Christmas Festival. It happened around 2:00 Sunday morning near the Carmel exit, which is about 20 miles away from Shreveport on I-49. The driver of a Dodge Neon was on their way back from the fesitval when it rear ended a van. The person in the Neon died at the scene. The driver of the van was taken to L-S-U hospital.
