A one-year-old female child had drowned in a backyard pool in Bossier City, the Bossier Coroner's office confirms.

The child's name has not been given. The house is in the 2200 block of Bell Grove.The child’s mother, who was home at the time of the incident, did not realize that the little girl had ventured out into the backyard. When she realized that the child was missing, she located her in the family pool. The mother called 911 and began CPR. She was relived 3 minutes later by the Bossier City Fire Department who continued CPR and transported the child to Willis Knighton Bossier. Tragically the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No charges have been filed and the case is still currently under investigation by the Bossier City Police. Stay tuned for more details on KTBS.com.
