It's a near miss one sheriff's deputy would have loved to have missed.

Bienville Parish Cpl. Scott Thrasher was parked on the side of Highway 9 in Saline when he says a log truck came flying around a sharp curve. His dash-cam caught the big rig as it lost control and flipped just feet from his patrol car and the Saline Police Chief's patrol car.

"If Scott wouldn't have told me to move, it would have been over," said Chief Sammy Matthews.

Thrasher says he knew the second he saw the log truck coming it was going to crash. He says he immediately put his car in reverse and drove to safety.

The driver of the truck was not injured, but Thrasher says he did receive several traffic tickets.
