DeSoto Parish authorities say an elementary school Parent Teacher Association officer has been arrested after confessing to taking funds from the organization by forging other officers' signatures to checks.
Charissa Wright, 23, of Grand Cane, was booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on four counts of forgery and two counts of monetary instrument abuse. Additional charges are pending after more bank records are reviewed.
Wright, who was assistant treasurer for the PTA at North DeSoto Elementary PreK-2, only admitted to taking $915, but missing funds exceed $2,200.
It is unclear if Wright has an attorney.
