Shreveport Police officers have their hands full right now directing traffic in parts of the city.

An AEP SWEPCO spokesman says two circuits locked out at the Edwards Street substation a little after 5pm, affecting more than 800 customers downtown and in north Highland.

Right now, SPD officers are helping control traffic in the affected areas.  No word on when the juice will be flowing again.
