Bossier City police have released store security video that showed a discount store being robbed on Monday.

The robbery happened about noon at the Family Dollar in the 2700 block of Barksdale Boulevard.

Police said a man, wearing what appeared to be a white T-shirt wrapped around his head, walked up to store employee standing outside the front door smoking a cigarette and ordered her inside.

The security video shows them going to a cash register, where the employee was ordered to open the cash drawer, police said.

The robber got an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses outside the store told police the suspect ran along Barksdale Boulevard then cut across the street and headed into Barksdale Annex neighborhood.

The store employee was not injured.

Police said detectives are looking into the possibility the same gunman robbed the Exxon gas station at Hamilton Road and Interstate 20 this past Friday.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to contact Bossier City detectives at (318) 741-8649 or Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.
