A sports car swept off a parking lot and into a drainage ditch by floodwaters was pulled out of the ditch today -- more than a mile from where it watery last ride began.

A wrecker crew pulled the Porsche from beneath a bridge near First Baptist Church of Shreveport at Ockley and Gilbert drives.

The Porsche Carrera was swept into the Ockley Ditch from a parking lot of Normandy Village Apartments Tuesday night as rain and floodwaters pounded the neighborhood.

The ditch had become like a river rapid, carrying the car through South Highland neighborhood.

The car's owner, Seth Winterer, was out of town during the storm.

"My friend, Robert, lives there and he has the same car that I do. I called him and said, 'Robert, is that your car? And he said, 'Hey buddy it's yours. Sorry.'"

Winterer is taking it in stride, saying he's got insurance on the car, which had 3,000 miles on it.
