Shreveport, La. (AP) -

A lawyer has advised the Shreveport City Council that the city should seek immediate reimbursement of $8,900 in over payments to financial adviser Grigsby & Associates.

Lafayette attorney Frank Neuner Jr., whose firm investigated the city's contract with the San Francisco-based financial advisory firm at the council's request, said accounting errors resulted in a net overpayment.

Neuner said the investigation also found $677,333 in questionable expenses, the majority of which were a result of improper documentation.

The Times of Shreveport reports that Calvin Grigsby, of Grigsby & Associates, said the firm's invoices comply with the city contract. And Grigsby called the suggestion that invoices are questionable because of a lack of supporting documents a "malicious misrepresentation."
