On Thursday, June 14 at 10 a.m., Bishop Brandon will be handed the keys to the Westwood Manor Nursing Home West Facility. The property is being donated by its owner as they have built a larger state-of-the art facility in Southeast Shreveport. This donation embarks upon the beginning of a long fruitful partnership between the two.
Brandon will utilize the facility initially as a Community Resource Center and possibly provide a Police Sub-station for the area. Brandon said, “We want to provide the space for the community’s use. Unfortunately, crime has been on the rise and citizens are concerned. Incorporating the necessary tools and resources will constitute a proactive approach to ridding our neighborhoods of senseless violence and crime.”
