Program helps families with rising food prices

Most Americans will get their economic stimulus check from the government soon. Direct deposits start Monday and they'll need them. For many families, the weekly trip to the supermarket has become a white-knuckle experience. But there's a new effort to help Americans through the week.

In Tennessee Saturday, a response to rising food prices arrived at churches and community centers by the truckload.

Angel Food Ministries sold a week's a worth of groceries, enough to feed a family of a four, for just $30.00.

It was an incredible deal and thousands of families lined up.

"It really helps it really cuts down on my grocery shopping," said Lois Lee, resident.

"Big difference, a big difference because in a box you can get like three dinners, four dinners," said Billie Lancaster, resident.

The trucks went out to 13-states to families struggling to make it through the week.
