Project Curb Appeal gets underway

Texarkana Clean Up

The "Project Curb Appeal" will be done to aid residents in cleaning up Texarkana.

It will be done in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections (DCC).

We ask all residents to take this time to clean up their lots and dispose of any waste material in a legal manner.

The Code Officers shall be visiting the properties on this section of Jefferson Avenue and issuing notices to any property owner/renter of items to be addressed.

The following list contains the streets being placed on the project next:

1. E. 7th Street from Stateline to E 9th Street

2. E. 8th Street from Stateline to E 9th Street

3. E 9th Street from Stateline to Broad Street

4. Arkansas Blvd from Stateline to Hwy 67

5. County Avenue from E 9th Street to IH-30

6. Preston Street from Eastside Drive to Price Lane

7. Dudley Street from Jackson Street to S. Oats Street.

Residents cleaning their property shall place debris in the Trash on their Trash collection day.

All garbage shall be placed in watertight containers, when full, not in excess of 50 pounds and having a lid or cover and handles for easy lifting.

Yard waste shall be neatly bundled or placed in disposable paper or plastic bags.

Yard waste shall not weigh more than 40 pounds which can be easily handled by one man. Limbs must be tied up in bundles not over 4 feet in length.

Do not put building materials, tires, old appliances, furniture, trash, litter, cans, bottles, etc. on the curb as yard waste.

Mixed trash and yard waste is not eligible for pickup.

Please note that yard waste is recycled into compost.

The DCC shall work in the Right-of-Way (ROW) of Jefferson Avenue edging the curb line, removing any grass growing in the street gutter, removing any illegal signage (advertisements, garage sales, etc.) and trimming any trees obstructing the sight distances along the roadway.

They will not be performing work on private property.

The property owner is asked to clean their property and bring any deficiencies up to City Codes.
