If you didn't know it today is Randal Kirkland Day in Bossier City.
Kirkland was the first principal at Rusheon Middle School.
Today he turned 90 years old and students at the school threw a him a big birthday party.
Kirkland was the principal at the then JR High from 1955 to 1967.
Under his leadership Rusheon became a national model for how middle school should be set up.
