Redwater teen takes plea deal following triple murder

The Redwater, Texas teenager accused of killing a mother and her two children has plead guilty to charges of murder as part of a plea deal.

Pittman went before a judge Friday afternoon at the Bi-State Justice Building.

She plead guilty to the murders of 34-year old Amanda Doss and her two children, 11-year old Guinevere Doss and 8-year old Texas Johnson.

Pittman was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences .. with the possibility of parole in 30 years.

In 2011, Pittman was arrested for fatally stabbing the family of three and then setting the house on fire.

Pittman's lawyers say this was a hard day in court for everyone involved.

Prosecutors say they're relieved that the plea will end this case and spare the family the burden of a jury trial.

The death penalty or life without parole was not an option, Pittman was a 16-year old juvenile at the time of the crime.
