Hope, Ark. -

A $500 dollar reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in connection with a fire at a Northside Park Community Center.

Hope Assistant Police Chief Lt. Kim Tomlin says on February 12th firefighters responded to an early morning blaze that started in the office and kitchen area of the center.

"They were able to extinguish the fire. There was alot of smoke and water damage," said Lt. Tomlin.

Police say whoever is responsible for the fire could face charges of arson, commercial burglary and theft.

A couple of weeks before the fire, officers say the community center had been broken into and vandalized.

No arrests were made in that incident.

Tomlin says the city has offered the reward in hopes that someone will come forward with information soon.

City officials plan to repair the center, but there is no set time of when the work will begin.

Anyone with information on this crime, should contact the Hope Police Department.
